Figma – Pit & Dark Pit (Kid Icarus: Uprising)
Retail Release – April, 2013 – ¥3,800 each
Pit was revealed to be the next in the line of Nintendo branded Figma releases to coincide with Kid Icarus: Uprising. It (along with his Dark brethren) was released in April, 2013 for ¥3,800 each. Now obviously Pit and Dark Pit share the same mold, but they offer some differences in the ways of accessories. Pit come with Palutena’s Bow (which can split into two swords), an arrow, two larger rings, two smaller rings, five additional hands, an alternate head, a Monoeye enemy, and a stand for the Monoeye. Dark Pit comes with the Silver Bow (which splits into two swords), an arrow, six additional hands, an alternate face, and the Dark Pit Staff. Each figure contains a wide ranger of articulation, and I’m proud to say that the wings are handled pretty well and features quite a bit of articulation themselves. While I don’t think Pit quite stacks up to Link or Samus in terms of fun, he’s still a fantastic figure with a lot going for him. The staff functions good and holds together well, though the rings used for his wrists and to attach to the arrow have tendencies of falling out every now and then. The Monoeye and Dark Pit Staff inclusions are nice bonuses, and the Monoeye helps create a nice battle display for those that don’t purchase Dark Pit. While I think both figures are worth the purchase, Nintendo fans shouldn’t miss out on adding Pit to their collections. Between Samus, Link, and Pit, plus the inclusion of D-Arts Mewtwo and Charzard, we’re building quite the Smash Bros. roster in figure form!
