No matter what company owned the rights to Pokémon toys outside of Japan, we’ve always had a line of plushes to go with it. Once TOMY received the US distriibution, they began releasing slightly larger plushes that are actually imported straight from Japan (just like they began releasing the Monster Collection toys over here). In a strange move where we actually get plushes before Japan, TOMY has brought over Pikachu, Chespin, Froakie, and Fennekin as our first series of plushes. Each plush is roughly 5-7″ tall and made of the same plush material previous TOMY release plushes were. For fans of any of these Pokémon, they’re wonderful releases to to celebrate the upcoming launch of X & Y! Pikachu is well, just another Pikachu, but Pikachu fans shouldn’t pass this one up either. At $11.99, the price can seem steep to some, but for the quality and size of the plush (plus Pokémon toys going on sale at TRU often), it’s really a great deal in the end. I can’t wait to see what other Pokémon get released as Tomy runs an entire toy line from start to finish. I hope they pull through with a Pancham sooner rather than later.
