Review: Gabutyra de Carnival (Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger)

Gabutyra de Carvnical
Retail Release – September, 2013 – ¥6,800

Oh! Matsurincho! Get your Gabutyra de Carnival from CSToys International!

With the power of the Carnival Zyudenchi, Gabutyra can shrink down in size to become Overcharge Mode, otherwise known as Minityra! In his Live Mode, Minityra can spout off a series of random adorable dinosaur noises and just generally be cute. When you flip his head around and transform him into Gun Mode, the real fun begins. With just the Carnival Zyudenchi inserted, you can fire off the gun as normal. When you insert other Zyudenchi, you unlock a plethora of new sounds. Every Zyudenchi has a different call when inserted. For instance, if Ankydon is inserted, you hear “Dondonrincho!” When Futabain is inserted you hear “Baibairincho!” In an even more exciting turn of events, if you insert a Super Sentai Zyudenchi, it will call off the transformation phrase for that series! For instance, Goseiger will announce “Tensou!” and Gokaiger will announce “Gokai Change!” You finally have a use for your army of Super Sentai Zyudenchi! As everyone knows, Carnival’s secret lies in the ability to perform Kamitsuki Changes, where Kyoryu Red mimics Kyoryujin! Stegotchi, Dricera and Gabutyra will form Samba Carnival. Parasagun, Zakutor, and Gabutyra will form Western Carnival. Ankydon, Dricera, and Gabutyra will form Macho Carnival. Finally Ankydon, Bunpachy, and Gabutyra will form Kung-Fu Carnival. Each of those forms has an unique sound to signify that form. However, you can use literally any three Zyudenchi to create your own custom Carnival forms. The final attack while in that form will be a unique blend of sounds dependent on which Zyudenchi you inserted, so find your favorite and have fun. Overall, despite being pricy, Gabutyra de Carnival offers SO MUCH playability if you’ve been collecting the Zyudenchi since the start of the line. If you don’t have a huge Zyudenchi collection, you might not get as much out of this guy as other people will, but if you’ve got a full set of 24 and a nice haul of Super Sentai Zyudenchi, this is one of, if not the most fun toy the Kyoryuger line has to offer. Definitely worth the price.

  1. Shuki, big fan. Been watching your reviews so I know what products I should buy or not. I can’t help but to think about how you talk in this review for the Gabutyra De Carnival that the handle is fairly short. I realized that this isn’t really a disadvantage. I looked closely at the gun on the show, and the handle is fairly short there too. I also noticed how you pointed out in one of your hauls that you didn’t get Tobaspino. I was thinking if you’d like, since I have it, I could video record it for you and you could do the narration for the review. It would be a big honor if you could do that. I have Ankydon and Bunpachy as well to form SpinoDaiOh. Feel free to get back to me, I hope to hear from you soon.
