Every year we receive a giant toy to coincide with some form of the gimmick figures. We’ve had the Revolgarry, the Toridevendor, Power Dizer, the WizarDragon, and now we have the DX Suika Arms, a large suit of armor inhabited by Kamen Rider Gaim. The toy itself was released in November, 2013 alongside the Suika Lock Seed for ¥5,800. The Suika Arms can transform from Odama Mode, which is a big watermelon ball, to Gyro Mode, a flight capable vehicle suit, to Yoroi Mode, the large armor humanoid Gaim can pilot. Transformation is really easy between modes. Unfortunately Odama Mode doesn’t have too much in the way of features, and I still think it’s a shame you can’t carry it by the handle. Gyro Mode is a nice in between. While it’s not a full on armor, Gaim basically stands on the platform and flies around and shoots things with the guns in the armor’s hand. Finally Yoroi Mode is where the toy shines. While it doesn’t have amazing articulation, you can get some decent poses with the arms at least. While it can’t do a whole lot, I just LOVE the way it looks. Seriously, how cool is that? Anyway, the handle from the Odama Mode becomes a naginata, which is pretty neat too. While I can’t recommend it at the retail price, if you can get it for ¥4,000 or lower, I think it’s a pretty nice pick up. I have to give credit to Bandai for NOT including the Suika Lock Seed in with the toy! Good move Bandai, good move.
