Kamen Rider Gaim decided to take the bike toys in a new direction by incorporating the gimmick into the bikes themselves. The first two Lock Vehicles were released in November, 2013 for ¥2,500 each all by themselves, no figures included. The Lock Vehicles are Lock Seeds that, when activated, transform into a full scale motorcycle (or other vehicle) for the Armored Rider to, well, ride. The first two are the Sakura Hurricane, used by Gaim, Kurokage, and Bravo and the Rose Attacker, used by Baron, Ryugen, and Gridon. With a few simple unfolds the bike securely locks and place and any of the Arms Change figures (and S.H.Figuarts or any other similar scale toy) can ride the bike. Unfortunately, due to the transformation gimmick, the front wheel doesn’t turn whatsoever, meaning any sort of posing on the bike is severely limited. That’s honestly the only real downside. The locks have the same base as Lock Seeds, meaning they can plug into the Sengoku Driver. They even split right where the knife hits! They make no noise, but it’s a cool effect nonetheless. Despite the limited functions, I really dig the fact that the gimmick is so incorporated into these toys, so they’re a definite win in my book. For Lock Seed collectors, whether you count these or not is completely up to you (I count them). Pretty cool, and definitely worth a sale pick up.
