Having begun last February, the 66Action Kamen Rider line is a line of 66mm tall fully poseable Kamen Rider figures released by Bandai’s Candy Toy division. Each figure retails for around ¥500 or so, and includes the figure, one or two associated weapons, two sets of hands, and a small base to help stand the figure. The second set features Kamen Rider Zangetsu Melon Arms, Kamen Rider Double CycloneJoker, Kamen Rider Den-O Sword Form, Kamen Rider Kabuto, and Kamen Rider Dark Kabuto. While originally marked as a set of four, Kamen Rider Dark Kabuto is a secret figure, and comes packed in the SAME package as normal Kabuto. The case ratios seem to be three Zangetsu, three Double, two Den-O, and two Kabuto, with one of those Kabuto actually being Dark Kabuto. Zangetsu includes his Musou Saber, Melon Defender, two holding hands, and a stand. Double includes two hands holding GaiaMemories and a stand. Den-O includes the Dengasher in Sword Mode, two holding hands, and a stand. Kabuto and Dark Kabuto both include the “walking the path of heaven” hand, as well as a relaxed hand. All figures include articulation at the head, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, and feet, creating a rather dynamic figure for such a small package. Paint applications are pretty great for the price, and the head sculpts are spot on amazing. This line up is great, and leaves a little bit for everyone’s tastes. If you’re looking for a line of figures that are VERY afforable, yet still look great and can pose decent? Look no further. Boxes cost around ¥3,200, which isn’t bad for ten of these little guys. Complete your set, and sell of the extras to recoup cost, or even split it with your friends. A really great line that I hope continues for years to come.

Series 3 is due out in August, 2014 (much longer wait this time…) and includes an unknown figure, Kamen Rider Zangetsu Shin Melon Energy Arms, Kamen Rider Fourze Base States, and Kamen Rider Eternal! While I was hoping to complete the Heisei Riders before jumping into other guys, seeing my boy Zangetsu Shin in there is great, along with another Rider from W.
