DX Lock Seed Kamen Rider Knuckle & Kurokage Set
Premium Bandai Exclusive – September, 2014 – ¥4,320

Our next jump into Premium Lock Seeds brings us the DX Lock Seed Kamen Rider Knuckle & Kurokage Set! This set was released in September, 2014 for ¥4,320 before fees, in a similar style to the previous release of Bravo & Gridon. If you purchased both that set and this set, you received a special Sid Lock Seed! The set also includes the Sengoku Driver Faceplates for Kurokage and Knuckle.

The Sid Lock Seed is okay as a bonus item, but is nothing I would ever pay for. It doesn’t open, and has no LEDs. It does however have a number of Sid phrases from the button in the back. It does nothing in the Sengoku Driver, but does say “Connecting!” when used in the Musou Saber or Sonic Arrow. Like I said, it’s a good display piece, but nothing more.

The Matsubokkuri Lock Seed and Kurumi Lock Seed are exactly what you would expect. Each says their respective activation phrase, transformation jingle, as well as the three finishing attacks. Each Lock Seed also has the crack open, battle start, battle result, and crack close sounds via the button press on the back. While nothing out of the ordinary, I like the sounds both play.

Pairing off Kurokage and Knuckle was a smart move, since the set gives you the blank faceplate for Knuckle. This means you can use that in conjunction with the Matsubokkuri Lock Seed to give the look of the Kurokage Troopers. Overall, this is a must have set for any Gaim fan looking to complete their roster of main Lock Seeds. If you’re happy with the Candy Toy or Gashapon releases, then it might be a simple skip, but for the dedicated collectors, don’t pass this one up.
