Review: Dino Charge Megazord Figure (Power Rangers Dino Charge)

Dino Charge Megazord Figure
$9.99 from Toys R Us

Bandai has decided to can the “Retrofire” (later “Megazord Figure”) line in favor of making a slightly modified version of the concept and cram it into the 5″ Action Hero line. Our first release in this new style is the Dino Charge Megazord. Included with the figure is the Stego Saber. As with most Action Heroes, it was $9.99 at Toys R Us, and will be the same price as other Action Heroes at various retailers once he finally decides to be released elsewhere.

The figure itself is pretty nice. It has a very human like proportion to it, but it translates into a pretty decent figure. It has the basic points of articulation (head, shoulders, elbow, wrist, hip, knee, ankle), so poses are definitely possible. The pose-ability is very much like the Retrofires of the past two years, even though the joint design is a little bit different to match the usual build of the Action Heroes. The Dino Charge Megazord is roughly the same height as other Retrofires as well, so he will fit in perfectly. The natural design of the figure is a little bit different then previous releases in this style, but since it’s a new take on the Megazord Figure practice, I’m willing to forgive it. He matches in great with the Retrofires anyway in my opinion. My only complaint is the lack of blue Stego Saber. For whatever reason it is cast in red plastic (like a vast majority of the figure). This creates a really odd look, and makes customizing it a little bit harder. Considering they had to cast the Stego arm in blue anyway, I’m not really sure why this was done.

Overall, the Dino Charge Megazord is a neat little figure that fits in well with an already established Retrofire collection. If you’re on a budget, or want a cheap representation of the Dino Charge Megazord for your desk or display, look no further than this release right here.

  1. Why would they go and do such a nice figure and then give us a blue StegoSaber? That seems a bit odd. He looks pretty good overall. Can’t wait to find him out there somewhere…maybe.

  2. Yup this figure is in desperate need of a custom paint job… and still suffering from bandai’s strange articulation … what happened to the great articulation from the jungle fury megazord?
