As always with these videos, huge thanks to The Pokémon Company International and their public relations firm, Triple Point PR, for hooking me and several other Pokémon fans up with these Booster Boxes and Theme Decks. On average, a Booster Box will run you $90-110 depending on where you get it. Each Booster Box contains 36 Booster Packs, giving you 360 cards and 36 code cards in total. Each theme deck contains 60 cards (five exclusive variant cards between the two decks), a coin, damage counters and markers, a play mat, small rulebook, and a cardboard deck box for the deck.

The pulls from the Booster Box retained the insane pull ratios from Primal Clash, but to a little lesser of a degree, for a total of three full arts, five EXs, and only five holos. As mentioned in the video, I enjoy the easier to pull EXs, but sacrificing some necessary holographic cards in exchange is an odd mode. I hope TPCi can find a nice middle ground in future expansions. Of the cards I did pull, the Rayquaza pulls were pretty exciting to me, and all of the full art cards, while not all playable, look beautiful. Art is one of the biggest selling points of the card game to me, and this set doesn’t disappoint. Can’t wait to try out some decks with these cards.

The theme decks, as usual, aren’t necessarily good, but they have some decent cards in them, particularly the trainer cards. The way I see theme decks is that they’re great for entry level players, but experienced players won’t get a whole lot out of them unless there is an abundance of trainers you need from the deck. If you are a collector however, the decks contain five variant cards total that you would need for a set, if variant cards are your kind of thing.

Roaring Skies looks to be a fun set for sure.
