[youtube https://youtu.be/kSsnS06wEgM]The first Elite Trainer Deck Shields debuted around the time of XY: Flashfire and XY: Furious Fists. Each ETDS was a tall tin that was capable of storing a 60 card deck with ease. The main tin features artwork of two Pokémon, generally the stars of the promoted TCG sets. The additional selling point of these tins was the fact that the lid was actually a pull out container that could store coins, dice, damage counters, markers, etc. This allows players to carry their deck and all other playing materials all in one container. To push these even further, Pokémon have included two Booster Packs, as well a pack of 45 Energy Cards, just like the pack of Energy Cards found in the Elite Trainer Boxes. Each Elite Trainer Deck Shield retails for $12.99 and can be found at card shops, or game stores like GameStop.
These tins were released around the release of XY: Ancient Origins. One tin is colored green and purple featuring art of Mega Rayquaza and Mega Latios. The other is colored blue and pink featuring art of Hoopa Unbound and Hoopa. Each tin, as previously mentioned, contained two Booster Packs of XY: Ancient Origins, as well as a pack of 45 Energy Cards.
