Every set we generally get special promo blister packs that include a coin, a promo card, and either one or three booster packs of the newest set. Usually we receive two single pack releases and two triple pack releases. The single pack promo blisters retail for $4.99, while the triple pack promo blisters retail for $11.99 at most major retailers. For XY: BREAKpoint, the single packs contain a promo Pikachu (XY95) or a galaxy foil reprint of Hydreigon from XY: Phantom Forces. The triple packs contain a promo Umbreon (XY96) or a galaxy foil reprint of Pyroar from XY: Phantom Forces. As an XY Black Star Promo collector, I opted to only pick up the Pikachu and Umbreon sets, as I don’t really care too much about the variant reprints. Neither promo is all that good, but the artwork is both cute and beautiful respectively. Whether these are worth it is ultimately up to your pulls, but the triple pack releases are actually a fantastic price, as three packs individually would retail for more than $12. If you’re out to just get a few packs, you might as well go for one of the triple pack releases.
