T-Sprints is a new line of toys from Playmates Toys that takes the car aspect of the T-Machines line and revs it up to a whole new level. The T-Sprints themselves are a small roughly one inch high toy that has a wheel on the bottom. Revving up the wheel and letting it go will cause the character to dash forward while moving its arms and legs. While each character is fun on its own, also included is a small plastic shell shaped like a vehicle from the TMNT series or toy line. Rev up the character, drop them into a vehicle, and watch them take off. The first series of toys contains Leo with the Shellraiser, Donnie with the Patrol Buggy, Raph with the Stealth Bike, Mikey with the Party Wagon, and Shredder with the Shreddermobile. Each toy retails for $4.99 to $5.99 depending on the store.

I always dug these kinds of toys when I was a kid. I’d always race them across my living room table or the kitchen floor, crash them into each other, or anything else that popped into my head. These are no exception and are just as fun. The little animation made is really funny to me given the Turtles’ tiny bodies. They actually can go quite the distance (albeit not always straight) with a good rev, and given the entire length of my home is wood panel flooring, I’ve had a lot of fun. The vehicles are really hit and miss for me. I feel the playset might benefit from them, but I have a problem trying to rev them and drop them into the vehicle without losing a ton of speed. They’re a neat inclusion, but I almost would have rather seen two packs of Sprints instead of the vehicles. They’re super fun for what they are, and I think kids should get a kick out of these toys.
