The second Zyuoh Cube Busou series release is Cube Mogura, otherwise known as Cube Mole! Cube Mogura is a small purple mole like Zyuoh Cube that can transform from Zyuoh Cube to Cube Animal to a drill weapon that can be wielded by Zyuoh King or Zyuoh Wild. It’s also the final piece of the Wild Zyuoh King combination that unites all eight of the currently released Zyuoh Cubes. It was released in April, 2016 for ¥1,000.

I really like Cube Mogura. He’s short and simple but he fits the part and I love that his weapon mode can be held by all three combinations you can currently make, unlike Cube Kirin that gets a little floppy with Zyuoh Wild, and can’t be convincingly held by Wild Zyuoh King. While I ultimately like giraffes more than moles, Cube Mogura is definitely the better release thus far.

Wild Zyuoh King is an interesting combination. It’s not without its flaws, but the more time I spend with it, the more I really like it. People complain about the blocky design, but it is a robot made out of cubes, what else is it supposed to look like? The arms are definitely the biggest issue I have. The arms are roughly the same width, but the hollow nature of the Cube Eagle arms compared to the solid beefyness of the Cube Gorilla arms just doesn’t work at all. More importantly, the different sized hands just look really weird. Thankfully this doesn’t seem to be a problem in future combinations, so it’s just something to temporarily deal with.

It’s an essential piece to the combination, and it will continue to be included as the series progresses, so this is a must have for Zyuoh Cube fans. For those who are behind, you can buy Zyuoh King, Zyuoh Wild, Cube Kirin, and Cube Mogura in a Wild Zyuoh King bundle set that has everything you need to make the weird cubed hero.
