The second of Zyuoh The World’s Zyuoh Cubes is number 8, Cube Wolf. Cube wolf is a silver colored cube that transforms from Zyuoh Cube to Cube Animal in a few simple steps. Cube Wolf has compatiblity with both Zyuoh King and Zyuoh Wild as a new bottom component for either combination. Together with Cube Rhinos and Cube Crocodile, they form Tousai Zyuoh! Cube Wolf was released in June, 2016 for around ¥2,500.

Cube Wolf unfortunately is very much like Cube Elephant in that it transforms on its side, making a really weird looking animal with robot feet sticking out of its hips. The head sculpt however is really neat looking, and I can’t help but love it just because it is a wolf. The robot mode portion is alright, reminding me a lot of Elephant yet again, but the black line that emulates the gap between Zyuoh King and Zyuoh Wild’s legs isn’t colored all the way down. This creates a really weird looking design for both robots that just looks really odd. Both robots have always looked like bricks, but not having that gap makes it look even moreso than normal.

Cube Wolf ultimately isn’t as neat as Cube Crocodile, but I still enjoy him nonetheless. I wish he had a look more like Cube Tiger, but it is what it is. As with Croc, the functionality with Zyuoh King and Zyuoh Wild is such a selling point, and I’m absolutely loving this line. Next up: Cube Rhinos!
