It’s time for Kamen Rider Beast to make his S.H.Figuarts debut. He was released in June, 2013 for ¥3,500. I was a huge fan of the Beast WAP figure, given the fact that it came with Beast, all 4 Mantles, and a Chimera body all right out of the box. The S.H.Figuarts release only comes with the core figure, with Chimera nowhere to be found and the Mantles being pushed to a Tamashii Web release. Beast is a pretty nice release, with pretty solid joints, no limits to his articulation, and absolutely beautiful gold paint that accents the black matte finish well. Unfortunately the figure is still a Wizard figure, so he’s a bit short, has a belt that covers the entirety of his midriff, and has giant feet. The details however are superb, and make the figure worth it in the end. Included with Beast is the Dice Saber, an extended tip for the Dice Saber, six interchangeable middle portions of the Dice Saber to display the six different faces, his mayonnaise bottle, and fifteen additional hands. Yes, fifteen additional hands. Overall, if you have the WAP release of Beast, then getting this figure won’t get you too far except the pretty paint. Not including the Mantles is a bit of a let down to me, and the one thing that sets the WAP figure over the edge for me. For fans looking for a nice Beast figure and don’t really care about the Mantles, then go for the SHF, you can’t beat the paint on this guy.
