S.H.Figuarts Kid Gohan & Nasca Dopant revealed!

I know I never bothered to post the news of all the crazy new nonsense like:
• Diend Complete Form
• G Den-O
• Movie Summaries
• Exotic Headers in Epic 08
• Datas Hyper looking cool in at least ONE mode
• I’m poor
• Various other things I can’t recall right now

HOWEVER, this is a toy blog above all else (it’s also my own personal rant box and shit hole, but that’s a different story!) so I will actually put forth effort and post TOY news, so here it is!

A DBZ S.H.Figuarts release of my favorite form of my favorite character? HELL YES. I can not begin to say how excited I am for this release. Of course, Gohan here is a kid and is only about 2/3rds the size of a standard Figuart. What can Bandai do to make him fit into the established price point? MAKE HIM AWESOME. Gohan here not only comes with his really awesome cape that I love to death, but he has two hair…head…things. One for Super Saiyan, and one for Level 2. This leaves the question on which mode I would rather pose him in. I can’t answer this yet. To top it off, he also comes with four additional face pieces, and two more pairs of hands. This is absolutely fantastic.

SHF Nasca

S.H.FIGUARTS NASCA OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG. Yes. Back when the initial poll was put online for who you wanted to see as a Figuart, this guy was on my list (along with Dark Kiva, and a super cool transformable AutoVajin). Nasca was one of my favorite characters in Double so far, and the fact that they’re going to give him a Figuarts release is just brilliant. He placed second in the Kamen Rider poll overall at Tamashii Features, so clearly Bandai has seen that the fan demand is strong enough! Despite the fact that he might end up being an exclusive, Nasca will live on foreverrrrr!

Oddly enough, we have seen evidence that they are making Omnimon/Omegamon (from Digimon for all you stupids) and now Nasca, but we haven’t seen prototypes for ShinkenRed and Shadowmoon, the winners of the Non-Kamen Rider and Kamen Rider categories respectively. I’m sure they’re still on the way, as Bandai has said they are working on them. Maybe they’re saving the unveiling for something bigger? Who knows?

Damn I’m excited.

Gashapon GaiaMemory Sets 2-4!

Earlier this afternoon, a scan of what is now confirmed to be Gashapon GaiaMemory Set 4 (Sound Capsule GaiaMemory) was leaked. Not knowing what it was at the time, I poked around the interwebs with “korodou” as my keyword. This led me to the “Gachakorodou” site (a store dedicated to Gashapon toys it seems). I browsed there with “GaiaMemory” as a keyword, and wound up with these.

Sound Capsule GaiaMemory Set 2 (Expected to be released late March) – Accel, Engine, Skull, Fang, Ryuki, and Momotaros

Sound Capsule GaiaMemory Set 2

Sound Capsule GaiaMemory Set 3 – 3 Unknown W Memories, 2 Unknown Rider Memories, Urataros, Kintaros, and Ryutaros

Sound Capsule GaiaMemory Set 3

Sound Capsule GaiaMemory Set 4 (due out the 1st of May, according to the scan) – Extreme, Trial, Terror, Nasca, Diend, New Den-O, Deneb, Zeronos

Sound Capsule GaiaMemory Set 4

I don’t have much to say about Set 2. As for Set 3, things get interesting, as they are unknown. Heat and Metal both have not gotten the Gashapon release. They could make 3 a fun set, and have the 3 W Memories be CycloneJoker, HeatMetal, and LunaTrigger. If 4 is in May, and 2 is in March, it’s safe to assume Set 3 will be in April sometime. As for Set 4, everything is pretty much there. The Rider selection was clearly influenced by the Cho Den-O Trilogy beginning in May and leading into June. Apparently, the Dopant Memories will have about 3 Dopants each. I can read “Smilodon” under the Terror Memory (oddly enough “Nasca” seems to be there too, so maybe they’re backwards?). I’ll post or update this post as more info is released.

Review: PLEX Fang Memory

Where do I begin with this thing. It’s not that I hate it, in fact, I like it quite a bit, but only because it gave my DX Fang Memory another child. Only problem is this child is a bit messed in the head, and has paralyzed arms. That, or he stuck his hands into super glue and decided he had a headache. Thankfully, he was only around $10.00, and the $10.00 was worth it to have an additional Fang Child. Gashapon Fang Memory please.

As I said in my review, he has no arm articulation in the slightest. it’s all one molded piece that’s attached to his neck…collar…area for all eternity. Like the Candy Toy, he has no Memory Mode, which is sad. On the plus side, paint wise, he’s got almost all the paint details (at least on that one side) that the DX version has, so he’s not totally stripped of details. Size wise, he’s only a hair bigger than the Candy Toy, and even then it’s only because his body is a slight bit larger to accommodate how the memory comes out in this toy.

I really only recommend this toy if you as well are trying to make a happy Fang Family. I also recommend it to those who really want to buy PLEX Toys as opposed to the DX versions. Overall, I recommend the Candy Toy version much more than this one. They’re about the same price, the Candy Toy can move its arms, and you get the fun of building him too.
